In 2020, Speedy Ventilation were engaged to remove the antiquated kitchen exhaust canopy and supply a new, larger, Speedy High Efficiency canopy and upgraded mechanical exhaust.

The works were completed over 3 stages.

Stage 1 consisted of the supply and install of nearly 30m2 of double island rangehood, complete with mechanical kitchen exhaust works within the kitchen space. We were required to work around the existing low level beams surrounded by sandstone walls, attaching to an existing 3 storey riser ductwork.

Stage 2 consisted of the provision of make-up air to the kitchen with outside air being introduced via the removal of a window at the back of the kitchen. Dual fans were installed to deliver air to the ceiling diffuser around the hood.

Stage 3 included the supply and install of three dishwasher condensate canopies across two sculleries. Finally, crane lifts were utilised to modify the non-compliant kitchen discharge of the roof top to become vertical.

The result was a practical, new, modern exhaust system.
